Do you know the first digital cell phone was invented by an African American man named Jesse Eugene Russell? Yes, it’s true, no exaggeration. Mobile phones were first on the 1G network which allowed for analog calls and were used in cars. Phones had to be charged for 10 hours just to get 30 minutes of call time.

Well Mr. Russell said “Why don’t we just take the phones out of the car and put them on the people.” He then led his team to creating digital calls from devices routed top cell towers creating the first 2G network. Calls and text messages were now available in the USA.

Since he worked for AT&T he did not profit as much as he should have. Had he been independent he would be a Billionaire.
